Assaf lanir / Physics

About myself:

I was born in 1989 and I come from Be'er-Sheva. I am profoundly interested in very diverse fields in science, mathematics and philosophy. I have a special interest in the general theory of relativity, a subject that I have been studying for a while under the teaching and supervision of Prof. Amos Ori of the Technion's Faculty of Physics.

What year did you start the Program: Winter 2012

Hobbies and other activities:

My foremost hobby is playing the piano. Admittedly, I truly hope that I will finally demonstrate some loyalty to a sports regime here in the campus, with all of its numerous possibilities.

Projects you are doing that are not part of the standard curriculum:

I currently work on a project in general relativity under the supervision of Prof. Amos Ori. I hope to devote a great deal of time to this project and to future studies in this field.

I also have another project in theoretical biology which I have been trying to develop for years, where I attempt to give a new view at the controversial evolutionary role of mobile genetic elements. Fortunately, a knowledgeable PhD student of the department of Zoology, Tel-Aviv University, joined me recently to this effort.
