How did you benefit from the academic benefits?

"I enjoyed the freedom of choice, regardless the level of the courses, their subjects and even registration deadlines."

Did you carry out some research?

"I am involved (still) in several researches of the faculty. One of them, with Dr. Arch. Dafna Fisher-Gwirtzman, is about case studies analysis of architectural interventions in existing buildings and adaptive re-use.

Another on-going research started with the creation of a new vision to the faculty, and is leading towards a new curriculum for architectural studies. This research has many pedagogical and professional aspects, and it includes the work of the entire academic staff, mainly Prof. Shamay Assif.

Some of my own architectural project founded a base for future researches; one of the subjects is the fundamentalist-city in the era of globalization – the influence of the city on religious communities and their influence on the public realm.

Another subject is the manifestation of a new approach for planning and designing mega infrastructural sites by bridging over different scales, especially in a small country such as Israel."

Today (2018):

Yael is an Adjunct Instructor and a Research Assistant at The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Art and Science. She is also a Creative Designer & Strategist at Tellart.

Message to the new generation of students in the program:

The program provides an opportunity to interact and play with various ideas. Topics that are introduced from various disciplines are cutting-edge research and the questions can be translated to different industries.

To see what issues other people care to address and their approach to practice and research is a widening experience.
