Dean Leitersdorf
Co-Founder & CEO @Decart
Faculty of Computer Science

Dean, 27, is the CEO and Cofounder of Decart. He earned his PhD from the Technion at age 23. He was notably the youngest in the history of the institute to receive a PhD - until his record was broken by his younger brother, Orian.

At the Technion, Dean’s research centered on accelerating large-scale operations like matrix multiplication and graph processing. Dean received the ACM Principles of Distributed Computing Doctoral Dissertation Award for his PhD, with over 20 published papers in distributed computing, including maintaining the fastest distributed sparse-matrix multiplication algorithms for several years in a row.

Dean graduated summa cum laude in CS, with the 5th highest GPA in Technion CS history, and is a graduate of the Technion Excellence Program.

During Dean’s IDF service, he served in Unit 8200, where he was deeply involved with major classified projects and received the highest award - “The Israel Defense Prize.”

Dean later completed his postdoc at the National University of Singapore (NUS).
