After completing her BSc degree, Daphna studied medicine at Tel Aviv University. During that time, she was a researcher and a software developer at IBM's research labs in Tel Aviv, in the group "Machine Learning and Data Mining" for Healthcare and Life Sciences – Health informatics. In this bioinformatics-oriented research group, big data and precision medicine was used to develop algorithms in various medical areas.
Daphna Landau is an orbital and oculoplastic surgeon at the Goldschleger Eye Institute, Sheba Medical Center, Israel, and a research affiliate at the division of Ophthalmology, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). Dr. Landau was trained in pediatric oculoplastic surgery at CHOP. She participated in several humanitarian delegations to tribal areas in Africa, performing oculoplastic surgeries. Dr. Landau is an associate editor of Orbital Imaging Atlas under Springer publications, a collaborative work of world leaders in orbital surgery and imaging, and is leading various academic and innovative projects. Dr. Landau is the Founder & Head of the Pediatric Oculoplastics Clinic at Sheba Medical Center.
