Gal Shulkind
Software Engineer, Perception for Autonomous Vehicles
Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Physics

BSc in Physics and in Electrical Engineering,  at the Technion.

PhD in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at MIT.

Participated in the Technion Excellence Program: October 2002 – March 2006.

Gal used the program’s benefits to take classes without their prerequisites and incorporated advanced classes, and cross-departmental classes in his curriculum early on. During his 6th semester he began working on a master’s degree (M.A) in Physics.

Gal did research under the supervision of Dr. David Arbel and Prof. Meir Orenstein from the Electrical Engineering department on “Plasmonic based switching devices in silicon”.

Recommendation to Program participants: “The most useful advice I can give is talking with faculty members and graduates of the program as soon as possible – they might offer a different perspective of things, and will probably be eager to share their experience. I would also recommend taking extra credit points at the beginning of the program such as to leave some extra time for advanced classes and research during later stages – this can be very helpful for your future progress.
