Niv took several advanced and graduate physics courses, many of which he took without completing the prerequisites, effectively starting his second degree simultaneously. He also conducted some research with EORD (Electro-Optics Research and Development). Apart from EORD, Niv started his research with Profs. Gad Koren and Emil Poltirak in his last year, involving High Tc superconductors, which he continued after graduating from the program.
Recommendation to Program participants: "Try and do more research than I did, and take more courses from other departments – I mostly exhausted the available physics options."
