Shay conducted research on "FIR Filter design for Filter Bank decomposition" in order to determine what is required for such filters and find a method of designing them. He researched the problem of designing filters for a sub-band composition and decomposition. The research was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Meir Zibulski.
