Sivan Yogev
Senior Software Engineer
Faculty of Biology and Computer Science

BSc in Biology and Computer Science, MSc in Computer Science at the Technion.

PhD in Computer and Information Sciences at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev.

Participated in Technion Excellence Program: October 1999 – June 2003.

Sivan studied Biology and Computer Science in parallel (which he couldn't have done without being in the program). He graduated in biology, and then was able to continue his MSc degree in Computer Science.
As a result of a lecture given in the program by Prof. Ehud Keinan from the Faculty of Chemistry, Sivan started working with him on DNA computing machines. As a result of this work, he took part in the publication of two articles:
– Matteo Cavaliere, Natasa Jonoska, Sivan Yogev, Ron Piran, Ehud Keinan, Nadrian C. Seeman: Biomolecular Implementation of Computing Devices with Unbounded Memory. DNA 2004: 35-49.
– Soreni, M.; Yogev, S.; Kossoy, E.; Shoham, Y.; Keinan, E.; Parallel Biomolecular Computation on Surfaces with Advanced Finite Automata J. Am. Chem. Soc.; 2005; 127(11); 3935-3943.

In addition, he conducted a research project with Prof. Gadi Schuster from the Faculty of Biology, and took part in the publication of another article:
– Shlomit Yehudai-Resheff, Victoria Portnoy, Sivan Yogev, Noam Adir, and Gadi Schuster. Domain Analysis of the Chloroplast Polynucleotide Phosphorylase
Reveals Discrete Functions in RNA Degradation, Polyadenylation, and Sequence Homology with Exosome Proteins. Plant Cell 2003 15: 2003-2019.
