BSc in Electrical Engineering and Physics, and MSc in Electrical Engineering at the Technion.

PhD in Electrical Engineering at Stanford University.

Participated in the Technion Excellence Program: 2004 – 2008.

Yair took advanced courses in Quantum Field Theory, Information Theory and Statistical Mechanics.

He conducted research on the following topics:
1. Markov Decision Processes with generalized discounting. Under the supervision of Prof. Adam Shwartz, as part of the course "Honors Personal Subject". Their results were presented in Valuetools 2008 and were also accepted for publication in Operations Research Letters. The conference paper.
2. A significance measure for partial matching of shapes. Under the supervision of Drs. Michael and Alexander Bronstein, and Prof. Ron Kimmel, as a final project for course "Numerical Geometry of Images".
3. Distributed Video Coding in the Wavelet Domain, with Alona Strugatski. Under the supervision of Mr. Evgeney Prizimant, as part of "Project A".
4. Reinforcement Learning with a Universal Prediction Scheme. Under the supervision of Prof. Tsachy Weissman, as part "Project B".
