Limor Tsur / Biomedical Engineering

B.Sc. in Biomedical Engineering at the Technion.

M.Sc. in Biomedical Engineering at the Technion.

Participated in the Technion Excellence Program: October 2006- February 2010.

The program enabled Limor to take courses earlier than normally allowed, thus shortening her degree by one semester.

She started taking advanced courses very early on, including many graduate-level courses, mostly in the field of Signal Processing.

Being a member of the program has opened up the possibility of joining a research lab during her undergraduate studies.

Her research activities included characterizing input-output relations of realistic computerized models of neurons, with emphasis on the correlation structure of the inputs and the output. In addition, she participated in improving a signal sorting program.

Limor’s M.Sc. research topic was In Vivo Imaging of Cortical Response to Artificial Optical Retinal Stimulation. It was an important step in an ongoing effort to develop optical retinal prostheses that will non-invasively restore a sense of vision to blind individuals.

Prizes that Limor won during her studies:
– Samuel Sideman Excellence Award, Faculty of Biomedical Engineering, Technion
– Leonard and Diane Sherman Fellowship, Graduate School, Technion

Today (2017): Algorithms developer at Orbotech.
