Sarah used the academic benefits of the program to study more courses than usually permitted in a semester and to study a few advanced courses or courses outside the usual Chemical Engineering curriculum without having all the pre-requisites.
She carried out some research that continued into her doctorate under the direction of Prof. Yeshayahu Talmon from the Chemical Engineering faculty on the topic:”Microstructure Characterization of DNA-Lipid Systems”.
Today (2012): Sarah is a research scientist at the CSIRO government research organization in Australia, working on development of insect silks as biomaterials.
