Shira Nemirovsky / Electrical Engineering, Physics

First degree in Electrical Engineering and Physics at the Technion.

MSc in Electrical Engineering at the Technion.

Participated in the Technion Excellence Program: October 1998 – February 2002

The academic freedom allowed Shira to juggle between courses in EE and Physics and to delve into topics that interested her and broadened her horizons.

In here research work under the guidance of Dr. Moshe Porat they are exploring interpolation methods of images, under various statistical models.

Recommendation to Program participants: “For BA students that join the Program I advise to broaden their horizons and learn diverse courses on one hand, but on the other hand, to be careful not to diverge too much in the learning issues and keep some kind of bond to the original recommended curriculum because it has common sense in it and it proves itself over the years.

For MA students I advise to find an academic advisor and research subject as soon as possible and to invest the most at that path. Research results give a great filling of satisfaction and accomplishment, bigger than any course you learn traditionally.

I wish every student in the Program (and in general) to find their specific interesting niche, to aim consistently for fulfilling their professional and personal goals and while doing that, to keep balance and internal serenity”.

Today (2012): Shira currently works for Rafael.
