Participated in the Excellence Program: October 2018 – September 2022
Recommendations for Program participants: “start to integrate lab-work as soon as possible during your studies – preferably from the summer semester after the end of the first year”
Today: Ofir pursues the MD-PhD degree in the faculty of medicine at the lab of computational cancer genomics under the supervision of Prof. Keren Yizhak:
“We address metabolic changes and metabolic characteristics of immune and tumor cells from biopsies of cancer patients following checkpoint immunotherapy. We do that using single-cell RNA-seq datasets and community-driven metabolic reconstructions. Our goal is to study how metabolism of both tumor and immune cells is altered in the disease and how it is affected by current immunotherapy approaches.”
