Ilan Guedj / Industrial Engineering and Management

First degree in Industrial Engineering and Management at the Technion.

Ph.D. degree in Financial Economics at MIT's Sloan School of Management (2005).

Participated in the Technion Excellence Program: October 1996 – February 2000.

Ilan combined advanced courses from the curriculum for a higher degree with a variety of courses given by different Technion faculties. His research, undertaken under the guidance of Prof. Mandelbaum Avishai from the Faculty of Industrial Engineering and Management, dealt with the topic: "Modeling patience while waiting in an invisible line of customers in waiting tele-queues". The object of the research was, on the one hand, to create an analytical model of people's patience, and, on the other, to analyze actual data on the subject.

About the Program: "The Program provided me with the tools necessary for coping with the research at the first level in one of the finest departments of finance in the world".

Today (2018): Ilan is a financial economist at Bates White.

Recommendation to Program participants: "Exploit your room for maneuver to the fullest: One must try, make mistakes and change direction".
