First degrees in Electrical Engineering and Physics at the Technion.
MSc in Physics at the Technion
Participated in the Technion Excellence Program: October 2002 – March 2006.
Nir included advanced courses in his curriculum, and also took part at a research in solid state physics: "P-type to N-type conversion of boron doped diamond", under the supervision of Prof. Rafi Kalish from the Physics faculty. The research included growing and doping the diamonds in order to create an N type diamond.
This research led him to focus his second degree on that subject.
His membership in the Program also helped him to take part in teaching (voluntarily) at the Technion during his first degree.
Recommendation to Program participants: "The Program gives you an excellent opportunity to broaden your horizons – by the special lectures as well as by the interaction with the other students in the Program. I would advise participants to use the Program to acquire a wide scientific background, using it to find an interesting subject on which they could base their research".
Today (2012): Nir works in a startup company called copper-gate, and also teaches in the physics department at the Technion.
