Eden Avishai / Medicine

BSc in Medicine.

Participated in the Technion Excellence Program: Winter 2014 – 2017.

During his undergraduate studies, Eden embarked on a research journey that took him to Germany for a summer internship in the lab of Professor Olga Golubnitschaja, resulting in several well-cited publications about wound healing and personalized medicine. His research endeavors continued with a Ph.D. at the Technion's Faculty of Medicine in Professor Asya Rolls' lab, focusing on Psychoneuroimmunology—the study of the interaction between the brain, the immune system, and how mental states influence immune responses, specifically looking into the liver's innervation critical role in this dynamic. He presented his Ph.D. findings at several international conferences.

Current workplace and position:

Eden has just completed his Ph.D. studies at the Technion's Faculty of Medicine and is nearing the completion of his MD. He's set to start his internship at Beilinson Hospital soon.

The impact  the program had on my professional life:

The personal attention I received from both the program head and the program manager was a tremendous source of support. They offered guidance and encouragement throughout my journey. Additionally, joining the program meant instantly becoming part of a group of friends, a community that supported me through the ups and downs of my degree. The program wasn't just a cornerstone of my professional development; it was also a gateway to an invaluable network of alumni who have significantly influenced my career choices. As I near the completion of my MD and Ph.D., I'm deeply grateful for this blend of academic enrichment, personalized support, and the lifelong connections the program has provided me.
