Michael Gelfand / Technion Excellence Program

About myself: I was Born in 2001 and raised in the city of Jerusalem. Ever since I was little I was a curious child, always eager to acquire new knowledge and had a particular fascination for math and computer science.

I graduated from Leyada High School in 2019, majoring in Computer Science and Physics. During my time at school, I participated in the "Alpha" research program at the Center of Future Scientists, in which I conducted research in neurobiology, specifically exploring the potential of stem cells in treating multiple sclerosis.

Following my graduation, I served in the 8200 unit for nearly four years, initially as a data analyst and later transitioning to roles as a data engineer and backend developer. Throughout my service, I had the chance to utilize my skills by translating intelligence tasks into math problem-solving challenges, in order to achieve beneficial operational outcomes. Looking towards the future, I am excited to embark on my academic journey at Technion University, where I will continue to expand my knowledge and skills.

Hobbies and other activities: playing the piano, ballroom dancing, traveling and hanging out with friends.

When did you start the program?  Winter 2023.
