Naor Wiesel / Electrical Engineering, Physics

About myself: I was born in 2002 in Ra’anana. When I was in 5th grade, my family relocated to Lexington MA, which is a town outside of Boston.
Over the course of my school years, I grew increasingly curious about math and science.
My 8th-grade Math class had no predetermined curriculum. Instead, it introduced genuine math problems, encouraging problem-solving and experimentation.
In high school, I got accepted to a program called MIT PRIMES STEP where we explored advanced math topics. I ultimately co-authored a game theory research paper, which was published in the November 2018 MAA journal, Math Horizons.
I joined my high school's robotics team, 2 Bits and a Byte, initially building the robot, and then concentrating on robot design, architecture, and 3D modeling. The team received the Winning Alliance award in the FIRST Tech Challenge 2018 world championship in Detroit.
In senior year, I took university level math courses at Harvard. In addition, I competed in hackathons and computer science competitions. In the summers of junior and senior years, I worked as a software developer in a wireless test equipment company.

Hobbies and other activities: Robotics, programming, video games, listening to podcasts, and hanging out with friends.

When did you start the program?: Winter 2020.
